Memphis Alley

I went downtown to Memphis alley
I saw shadows creeping here and there
A figure emerged like from a dark valley
He said, my name is Lucifer
I came down here to take your soul
I said what's your adjuration
Said man lives not by bread alone
The killer came down with vengeance
The killer came down from above
(The killer came down from above, yeah)
I went downtown to Memphis alley
I knew it was time for my reckoning
He spoke of God and fire and fury and brimstone
I saw the plagues of Egypt running through his eyes
I said hello to the darkness
Darkness said welcome home
I said hello to the darkness
Darkness said welcome home
The killer came down with vengeance
The killer came down from above
(The killer came down from above, yeah, yeah)
If you can't stand the bitterness, turn yourself to wine
If you can't stand the bitterness, turn yourself to wine
If you can't stand the bitterness, turn yourself to wine

Let You In
02:57

Like the water from a flash flood
You appeared out of nowhere one September day
A seduction in the house of the rising sun
Was it I who cast a spell or did you sing me a siren song
3 am drunk you woke me up
You shook me from my sleep so you could get yours girl
And I let you in, I let you in, I always let you in
Dandelions and roly polys made up our reveries
Lost in the sheets where two become one no boundaries
And you went out and got some in a moment of weakness
I got flooded with my voices
I couldn't speak, but I could scream
Yeah it broke me up inside and it tore me apart
I couldn't see it in the cards lying to myself so hard
But I let you in, I let you in, I always let you in
Dandelions and roly polys made up our reveries
Lost in the sheets where two become one no boundaries
It started out as a rosy story, but then came the thorns you see
A love affair turned south, a painful mockery
Dandelions and roly polys became vague memories
A hot burning flame and a quick end to our story

Something's Missing
03:32

We were strangers without fear
Came from different hemispheres
We'd been wounded in the same places, made the same stupid mistakes
You were mine that night with the fireflies, girl
But it wasn't enough
Something's missing
Ohh, something's missing
And I don't know what it is or what it was
We were strangers without fear,
Then your company disappeared
They all faded away, it was you and me
On your balcony for the world to see.
Passion took us into second gear, still no fear
But it wasn't enough
Something's missing
Ohh, something's missing
And I don't know what it is or what it was
Ohh, something's missing
And I don't know what it is or what it was
And I wouldn't trade that night for ten thousand stars
The night our galaxies collided
And I wouldn't trade that night for ten thousand stars
The night our galaxies collided
